Unlike any other dumbwaiter, the Summit Ascent® uses a special drive train and track system that makes it very easy to install and economical to own. Typical dumb waiters are built like mini-elevators with complex pulley systems, guide rails and traveling control cables. The Ascent dumb waiter comes from the factory with the entire drive system pre-installed on the underside of the car, and the car chassis/trolley system pre-installed on a section of the track. Installation of our dumb waiter isn't much more complicated than connecting sections of track, securing the drive cable to the header, and routing the wires to the control buttons and door interlocks. Lock and Beak - This picture shows the dumbwaiters hoistway door open. You can see that the car is at the landing and the car door is closed.	The Gal interlock is in the upper right corner mounted to the jamb (cased opening). The beak of the lock is visible on the swing door.

Back View - This is from inside the hoistway looking into the back of the door and lock. This view shows the cut out in the sheet rock necessary for the roller arm. You can also see the arm coming through the jamb area.	Cam and Roller - This picture is from inside the hoistway. It shows the cam on the car and how it makes contact with the roller on the GAL to actuate the lock.
Arm and Roller - This is a close up of the roller. It is easier to see the arm coming through the jamb. The roller connects to the arm. As the lift approaches the landing, a cam on the car makes contact with the roller. This actuates the lock allowing the hoistway door to open.	G.A.L. - This picture shows the lock body (2.75” wide x 5.25” tall x 2” deep), the actuator arm (approx 8” long), and the roller arm. The dumbwaiters hoistway door beak that attaches to the swing door is shown below.
Lock in Jamb - This is a front shot showing a closer view of the lock mounted to the jamb. You will need to bore a whole in the jamb to get the actuator arm through into the jamb area	Beak - This shows the attachment to the swing door. The beak fits into the lock. It mounts to the swing door via two small screws.
